Why We Love It
The Insane Calf LDT Sleeves are Surpas's race-day calf cover, built to the same aero brief as the brand's speedsuits rather than as a recovery product. Surpas developed them alongside its full-distance race program, including Kristian Blummenfelt's sub-seven-hour Ironman distance record.
Talk Nerdy To Me
Surpas describes the fabric as an extremely light, woven material chosen for its aerodynamic and hydrodynamic properties rather than compression numbers. The front panel carries a visible stripe structure, and seams are placed specifically to manage airflow rather than just for fit, with clean-cut edges at the top and bottom so there's no raised seam catching on the skin during the run. A silicone gripper band sits at the top of each sleeve to stop it slipping during a long bike leg or marathon run. It's built as aerodynamic race-day kit rather than a recovery or compression product, the same category of gear worn in Surpas's Ironman and full-distance race program.
